During the second semester of our 2021 school year our Fremont
High School team put together a mentorship program at Cupertino Middle School.
During this program we focused
on guiding middle schoolers and getting them ready for high school. We started a high school mentorship
program at Cupertino Middle School in order to be an ear and guide for them as they navigate the struggles
of middle school and soon-to-be high school.
Coming into high school many of us didn’t know what to expect and
the shift from middle school to high school was a big leap that overwhelmed many of us. What we wanted to do is give
middle schoolers an introduction to what to expect in high school so that they can be more prepared and ready to take
on high school!
We worked closely with the Vice Principal and Counselors of Cupertino Middle School in order to
create a program that was effective and fun for all the students regardless of background. We received lots of
positive feedback from this program which helped us make the decision to continue this program to the 2021-2022
school year! If you go to Fremont or Homestead High School and are interested in this program please reach
